But for foster and homeless youth, particularly those aging out of the system at 18, these vital supports are often missing. At a critical crossroads, they are thrust into adulthood with little more than hope and determination, but no real foundation or tools to help them succeed.
This is the untold story for so many young women, and it’s where the Taylor House steps in. Since 2012, we have been working to improve these odds by providing a safe, supportive space where young women can heal, grow, and thrive. Many of the young women who come to us have already endured immense emotional trauma. They arrive without the self-confidence or tools needed to move forward—some without a driver’s license, a car, or even a clear sense of direction.
At the Taylor House, we offer more than just a place to stay. We provide these young women with the resources they need to rebuild their lives—from job training and academic support to the chance to experience adult responsibilities in a nurturing and affordable environment. Every woman who joins our community is welcomed as family. Her victories, no matter how small, are celebrated, and her dreams are supported.
