EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Jennifer Valencia is a bilingual Program Manager with over eight years of experience in behavioral health, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy. A Los Angeles native, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Jennifer studied Business Administration and Sociology at UCLA.
She has dedicated her career to serving communities across the state of California that are often denied opportunity or come across hardship due to systemic bias, working with men, women, and children throughout social services, behavioral health, and the criminal justice system.
Her experience spans correctional rehabilitation, community health, and international outreach. She has lived and worked in India and Belize, leading education on human trafficking, violence prevention, and trauma-informed care. Most recently, she launched the first Spanish-language recovery program at Folsom State Prison, where she was the only Spanish-speaking AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) counselor on site.
Raised in the inner city, Jennifer understands the weight of generational cycles and the power of representation. She’s passionate about showing others what’s possible and walking alongside them as they build confidence, purpose, and independence. To be part of someone’s journey is an honor she doesn’t take lightly.

Stacy Springer

PROGRAM MANAGER

A graduate from the University of California at Davis and a native to Sacramento, Stacy is committed to the health and well-being of those who live in our communities. She has served Sacramento in the non profit sector since 2007 and understands the critical role philanthropy plays in building and strengthening our region. Stacy brings her non profit experience and passion to The Taylor House along with the belief that a community is only as strong as the people within it. She is especially drawn to the mission and vision of The Taylor House and is excited to be part of such a dynamic team. When not working, Stacy enjoys her three adult children, cycling, and spending time with friends.

Lisa, Founder of The Taylor House, retired from Washington Mutual Bank in 2004, where she worked as a Senior Account Executive in The San Francisco Bay area for 10 years. Upon retiring, Lisa returned to Placer County where she built a home and enjoys spending time with her grown daughter, animals and practicing yoga. In 2007 after years of volunteering at several, local, non-profit organizations such as the Sacramento Aids Foundation, Meals on Wheels and Gold Country Wildlife, Lisa joined the CASA organization and became a court appointed Special Advocate in Placer County. Out of her passion for advocating for teen girls in foster care, Lisa realized that there was a housing need for emancipating foster youth and out of that passion the Taylor House vision came to life.

Lisa Addy-Peat

FOUNDER

TAYLOR HOUSE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A retired grocery and building industry executive, Lance has been a Taylor House volunteer since 2011. He learned about the mission and vision of The Taylor House while volunteering as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) for Child Advocates of Placer County. Taylor House founder Lisa Peat was Lance’s CASA trainer and, as they collaborated, Lisa shared The Taylor House story. He was hooked! As the father of two girls, Lance was already sympathetic to the challenges young women often face. What he saw in court, and what he heard about The Taylor House vision and mission, made him anxious to get involved. It didn’t take long for Lance to begin volunteering during the remodeling of the property. He also supports the nonprofit at its various fundraisers, and is the unofficial handyman at The Taylor House. Lance became a member of the Taylor House board of directors in 2014 and is now in his second term as president.

BOARD PRESIDENT

Kathryn became a CASA volunteer in 2001 while working as a corporate executive in the Bay Area for a high-tech company. Her experience advocating for foster youth led her to switch careers to the nonprofit sector and join the CASA program of Placer County in 2007 as Program Director. For almost twenty years, her extensive customer service and operations background helped assign a CASA to every foster child. She dedicated herself to improving outcomes for youth and assisted with expanding the operation. Before joining California CASA, she was the Executive Director for El Dorado County where she was instrumental in developing an online training tool that doubled the number of trained volunteers and is now deployed and used by several other CASA programs throughout California. Kathryn began serving The Taylor House during its inception in 2011 and has been supporting us ever since.

She has lead charitable landscape renovation projects with Make a Wish and Wellness Within, and formed her own volunteer group Happy Spaces that provides landscape makeovers for families with special needs children as well as for kids going through medical treatment. Kate met Lisa Peat after being invited to redesign the Taylor House landscape during the remodel of the college apartment and since then has been a supporter of the organization.

After 50 years as both a partner and an independent CPA, Gene has almost retired. Throughout his career in Contra Costa, Monterey, and Placer Counties, he has been involved in each community with an emphasis on programs for at-risk children. In Placer County, where he moved in 2005, he has been a CASA and Mentor. Gene has also volunteered over the years to financially guide local nonprofits, some from their inceptions, helping to prepare paperwork, learning systems and finance to begin their journey. His passion is his motorcycle, which is now a trike, and taking long trips out of state to see old friends and family or to vacation with his wife Bernadette.

She has been a volunteer at different levels during the 32 years that she has lived in Roseville and heard about the Taylor House through friends.
